About Me

Born in Australia and living in Austria, I studied at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne and the London Contemporary Dance School (The Place), graduating with a Bachelor in Dance. My first appearance as a professional ballet and contemporary dancer was with The West Australian Ballet and Queensland Ballet, followed by soloist contracts with the Vienna Chamber Ballet, Graz Opera Ballet, Bremerhaven Stadttheater, Theater St Gallen and Landestheater Linz. My dancing career saw me perform on several European stages throughout Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland while working with many prestigious artistic directors and choreographers such as Jörg Mannes, Richard Wherlock, Mauro Bigonzetti, Nils Christie, Darrel Toulon, Jonathan Taylor, Barry Moreland, Harold Collins, Linda Papworth, Christine Comtesse and Phillip Egli.
During my professional career...
My pedagogical career...
as dance teacher and certified Pilates instructor has sent me across Austria, Ireland, Germany and Australia, teaching classes, workshops and summer school programs for more than 20 years. Additionally, in 2012 I became founder and director of European Dance Tours; educating and mentoring dance groups and individuals with tours, workshops and auditions throughout Europe. I am currently a lecturer for Ballet, Dance Studies and Colloquium as well as director of the Academy for Contemporary Dance and Ballet with the Institue of Dance Arts (IDA) at Anton Bruckner Private University, Linz.
Since finishing my active career on stage...
I have been focusing significantly on creating innovative dance methods for Ballet and Contemporary dance training. Therefore by complimenting this focus I completed a Master of Arts degree majoring in Dance Pedagogy and Movement Research from IDA Anton Bruckner Private University, Linz.
My vision as a teacher...
concentrates predominantly on the grounding philosophy of working truthfully for each individual dancer. To understand and value ones own corporal capacity and then applying this knowledge to enhance movement efficiency and diversity. I aim to explore and enhance how ballet technique education can develop the versatility and creativity needed in today’s eclectic dance environment. I believe (and consistently practice) in implementing modern dance concepts and historical movement methods in ballet and contemporary technique training as a tool to enhance perception of the body, movement mechanics and versatility.
